Dry Eye and It’s Treatment
Dry Eye is one of the most common complaints we hear at the practice. Usually, this has been poorly managed with patients just been sold the red bottled eye drop.

For most people, the root cause of the dry eye has not been determined. In our dry eye assessment we will find the cause of the dry eye, whether that is evaporative, aqueous deficient, other mechanisms or a combination. We can then tailor a treatment specifically to your eyes and your circumstances. This could be diet supplements, special eye drops to combat your specific type of dry eye, specific types of dry eye hygiene treatments such as debridement, meibomian gland probing and expression, or Zest and Zest-type treatments to reduce the biofilm of the eyelids whilst applying natural anti inflammatory agents. We can also prescribe specific medications aimed at improving your symptoms much quicker than normal over the counter eyedrops.
