Ocular hygienist and gland expression

These days the majority of us spend a significant proportion of our day focusing on computer screens. This allows for the build up of bacteria and debris around the margins of our eyelids.

In this appointment, Dr Swystun will first ask you to relax in our waiting area with your personal blephbag warm compress being applied over your eyelids. Next Dr Swystun will apply topical anesthetic (eye drop) and express the blocked glands contained within each eyelid. Finally, Dr Swystun will clean away the debris from your eyelids using mechanical cleaning with a NuLids device.

This is able to be booked after either an NHS sight test, or private eye examination. Our skilled optometrist will express the blocked glands of your eyelids and clean away the debris. Essential for those who spend times on computer screens or driving.

This can be booked as separate appointments:

1) Ocular Hygeinist: Eyelid cleaning similar to a dental hygeinist appointment: £35

2) Meibomium Gland Expression: £65

3) Ocular Hygeinist + Meiboium Gland Expression: £85

This appointment will take between 20 and 30 minutes
